Elena Fernández, M.S.Ed.

 

Elena Fernández, M.S.Ed., is a research assistant at the University of Miami, pursuing her Ph.D. in Teaching and Learning, Special Education. As a dually state-certified teacher in preschool and K-12 exceptional student education, she brings niche experience working with young children with prenatal drug exposure and adverse childhood experiences. In addition, she has a background in implementing AT, specifically AAC, in the early childhood classroom. Ms. Fernández was a fellow at Kennedy Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins Medical Institution and is currently a Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) trainee at the University of Miami Mailman Center for Child Development.
